What IS a luxury wedding?

This one might be a hot take! Stay tuned…

Having a wedding is already a luxury. If you’re able to throw a party and spend a few thousand dollars, or many thousands of dollars, you’re having a luxury experience. That’s the truth! Weddings are a privilege, marriage is a right.

In the world of weddings, “luxury” often conjures images of opulence and grandeur. Floor to ceiling floral installations, wedding trains a mile long, and Cartier watches as gifts for the wedding party. The venue is massive, fully inclusive, and has a team of celebrity chefs ready to go with a six-course meal. Everyone is dressed to the nines, and someone on the guest list is famous.

I’m here to redefine luxury, at least in my corner of the world, shifting the focus from price tags to experiences. As an alternative soul myself, I specialize in weddings and couples that transcend conventional norms, opting for authenticity and self-representation in their wedding days.

For me, it’s about breaking the mold. It's about embracing the alternative, the offbeat, and the extraordinary. Imagine a wedding where your personalities shine, and every detail reflects your distinct love story. Pretty freaking rad if you ask me.

Luxury = Experience

I believe that true luxury lies in the experience, and I pride myself on crafting a 5-star, 10/10, would forever recommend, experience.

From unconventional venues to personalized rituals, every element is tailored to create a celebration that shows off your individuality. It's about transforming your vision into a reality that feels authentically and uniquely yours. It’s my job to capture all of those details!

Luxury is also found in the details, and I am meticulous about hunting down details. Whether it's your decor, your bespoke rings that notch together, or a carefully curated invitation suite, each detail contributes to an atmosphere of sophistication and intimacy. One of my favorite games to play as of late at a wedding reception is to find someone who is wearing an outfit that matches the signature cocktail. I will always snap their photo with the drink. Guests love it, and so do I!

Luxury is inclusive.

It's about creating a space where everyone feels not just welcomed, but celebrated. In my world, diversity is a key element of luxury. Your wedding should be a reflection of the rich tapestry of your lives and the people you hold dear.

Luxury is embracing who you are without apologies. Your journey to wedded bliss doesn’t have to follow a traditional script, and that, in itself, is the epitome of luxury. It's about celebrating your uniqueness and creating a wedding that is a true reflection of your love story.

But let’s be real again, shall we? A wedding (luxury, micro, budget, or destination) is not just an event; it's a part of your book of love. Cheesy, right? I capture the raw, genuine moments that make your celebration uniquely beautiful. These are not just photographs; they are fragments of your love story, frozen in time to be cherished for a lifetime. But let’s be real. Your wedding is your celebration party. It’s not “all about the wedding”. It’s all about your relationship and commitment to your lover and your life together. You could spend $10k, you could spend $100k, and it should still boil down to the love you share. Nothing more. Because after your wedding day, life goes on!

I invite you to redefine your wedding experience. Don’t feel trapped by the perfect Pinterest boards or the curated Instagram feeds. Sit down and dive into what makes YOU as a couple tick, and what makes YOU as a couple happy. And then go from there.

Love always,

Kathleen
